Gelyka Dumaraos The air was filled with music and cheer as SM City San Mateo officially ushered in the holiday season with the launch of its “Rhythm of Christmas” centerpiece last October 27, 2025.
The grand Christmas Tree Lighting turned the mall into a scene straight out of a holiday dream, glimmering lights, joyful laughter, and the steady beat of festive drums setting the tone for the most wonderful time of the year.
Leading the celebration were Rizal Board Member John Patrick Bautista, members of the Municipal Council of San Mateo, and SM Executives, joined by Santa Claus and the ever-energetic SM Holi Squad. But it was the adorable kids in their little drummer costumes who truly stole the show, bringing smiles and a rhythm that reminded everyone what the holidays are all about: joy, community, and togetherness.
In the spirit of giving, SM also launched its heartwarming “Besties of Joy” campaign. Shoppers can buy one bear and give one to a bestie, with a second bear donated to SM’s partner foundation—a simple gesture that spreads double the happiness and keeps the rhythm of kindness alive.
Visitors are invited to capture the magic of the season at the giant Christmas displays located at the mall’s activity area—perfect for photo ops and making new holiday memories.
The “Rhythm of Christmas” celebration runs until January 6, 2026, inviting everyone to feel the beat of the holidays at SM City San Mateo, where joy, music, and giving come together in perfect harmony.
