Hi, I’m Gel — a writer based in the Philippines, drawn to stories about places, people, and the moments that stay with us long after.

Over the years, writing has taken many forms in my life: personal essays written over hot black coffee, travel stories from roads I once took alone (or on bus ride home), nostalgic notes from my childhood hometown in Pangasinan, and thoughtful work done behind the scenes for brands, publications, and campaigns. Somewhere along the way, I found myself helping businesses and founders shape their voice too — through storytelling, content, and meaningful communication.

I’ve always believed good writing should feel the same: honest, purposeful, and deeply human.

This is where all those paths meet.

Quezon Province: Four Days of Food Encounters, Festivals, and New Found Friendships

The only memory I had with Quezon Province where the nights when my bus bound to Bicol stops over Gumaca for an order of lomi you should chow down 15 minutes and a cup of instant coffee to warm you from the chilling night. This was just the scene I can associate with the province until I get to tour a portion of it early this year.

Musings and Pathways — a monthly update

Once a month, I send a letter. Not a roundup, not a digest — just a note from wherever I am in life. Something I've been thinking about, a place I've been, a thing I've felt and couldn't stop turning over. The kind of writing I do when no one is asking me to.

Each issue usually has:

a personal essay or reflection | something from the road | a line or two that stayed with me | a quiet question for you

No spam. No selling. Just one honest letter a month. Unsubscribe any time — no questions asked.

Some paths do not lead us away from ourselves — they lead us back.
